A permaculture urban homestead and marketgarden

ABOUT OUR GARDEN

The garden started out in the 1960s when Jason's Grandfather decided he wanted to have a vegetable garden. He gardened there all the way up to 1980. After that, it laid fallow up until Jason and Veronika, husband and wife, started to garden in the very same spot in 2011. Jason has been interested in growing vegetables since High School, where he was a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America). Later on he earned a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture from NC State University. Veronika grew up with a large vegetable garden, where her family grew all kinds of vegetables for a whole year in every season. Both of them share the passion for growing, cooking, and eating high quality ingredients.

Why The Traveler's Garden? Veronika is Hungarian she travels back to visit her family with Jason. They like to explore other European countries occasionally. During those travels, they are always looking for varieties to grow and techniques they can use. This is why you will find that they grow European and American Heirlooms. They also follow a french intensive gardening plan and organic practices. Their passion is to grow and share the best and freshest vegetables with friends and family. Now they are excited to let you know that their passion has grown to the point that they can share these fresh beautiful vegetables with you that are local and super nutritious.
